Application In UPS Power Supply

UPS is a system equipment that connects the storage battery (mostly lead-acid maintenance-free battery) with the host computer, and converts DC current into commercial power through module circuits such as host inverter. Mainly used to provide a stable and uninterrupted power supply for a single computer, computer network system or other power electronic devices such as solenoid valves, pressure transmitters, etc.

When the power input is normal, UPS will supply the voltage stabilized to the load for use. At this time, UPS is an AC voltage stabilizer, and it also charges the batteries in the machine. When power failure occurs, UPS will supply 220 V AC to the load by switching the DC power of the battery, so as to keep the load working normally and protect the software and hardware of the load from damage. UPS equipment usually provides protection against high or low voltage.

Customer ‘s project situation,1.5KW UPS work in outdoor, Overheating and inefficiency.

Alternative Solution

Replacing Ferrite Core with Nanocrystalline Core

Solution advantage

Compared to traditional ferrite cores, nanocrystalline cores have a lot of advantages as high inductance, good filter effective, small size and volume, lower turns of copper wire, lower power consumption and high efficiency. Nanocrystalline cores have very high curie temperature about 560℃, much higher than traditional ferrite core about200℃. High curie temperature make nanocrystalline core excellent thermal stability, and can continuous working at up to120℃ environment.

Solution Effect

  1. It can satisfy the rigorous work of UPS at 60 ℃ outdoors, less affected by temperature rise.
  2. It can meet the requirements of EMC-Class B, work steadily and be unsaturated.
  3. Lower power consumption and high efficiency.
